these are some of the crafts made by my friend , reid.
she makes all kinds of garments, hats, purses, jackets ,etc. out of vintage fabrics, blankets and textiles.
this weekend we will be selling crafts mixed in with collectibles at the dallas flea market. i think we’ll have a fun time and get in a good visit as well.

i know the pic above is at roundtop/warrenton, which is a pretty famous antique sale that is really kind of hard to explain, but it is fun.
it happens twice a year, and all kind of folks show up from all over the world really and it shows up in magazines like country living and the old victorian magazine and in the shabby chic books. there are treasures everywhere, new , old and redone.
i like all the things reid makes but i guess my favorite is her hats and her jackets that are made from vintage blankets and wool.
hope you enjoy taking a peek at her items and if you are in dallas the weekend of the 16-17 come join us at the dallas flea market at the fair grounds and email me if you want more info.

okay, i think i can, i think i can…….im still trying to get well, but wanted to post some new pics of projects and just things around the farm.
here goes the first photo is primitive man, the only indoor cat at the farm. i’m not even sure the prim man is aware that he is a cat.
the next photo is the beloved cosmo, the wonder dog. she is like a big polar bear and is just the heart and soul of the farm. everyone loves cosma she has the sweetest spirit.
other animals at the farm, giraffes, and bears of the knitted felt variety.
no, i dont know how to knit ,but i do know where the goodwill is, and our goodwill still has good bargains, and good wool sweaters(and some of them are already felted!) the last pic is a collection of items i’m making for the dalllas flea market. i hope they resemble carpet bags.
love to all,
fran and country

pincushions sent to farmgirlfriends in my first swap, it was great fun and i got some wonderful gifts from them, they are alot of talented women.
this is a flyer i used at the craft show in dallas, describing the farm and my beliefs about scrap crafting, it was a fun weekend, and i sold out which was also fun. here are the great eggs that the girls provide to us, country is a good chicken man and makes a great breakfast as well. and there he is doing pawpaw duty and reading a bed time story to deven the kinergarten boy, as he likes to be called these days..jpg)

it has been a while since i posted, it seems i fell off the turnip truck and then it ran over me, well, really i had the flu, it just felt like i fell off the turnip truck.
thought i would share some large and small projects we are tending to or avoiding here at the farm.
these are the dream houses the little cottages on the prairie that we hope to restore and turn into a studio?/shop, or a guest cottage or who knows what? right now they are just a big project. since they dont have electricity hookup yet, they are at the mercy of the weather as to whether or not i go out there and work on them. basically, they are a kitchen, bath,
1 bedroom , living room, porch(2?), and a sitting type room or extra small bedroom. (in each house)
i really hope we can have at least one ready next year, in the late spring.
keep your fingers and toes crossed.
